What Meridian is

The parts of Meridian and the words these pages use for them.

Meridian is a shared place for a team to test what it believes. You write down a claim, collect the evidence that bears on it, and record what you concluded. Prima, Meridian's built-in agent, works on the same canvas as you.

The parts

  • Workspace. Your team's space in Meridian. Everyone in it can see every loop that is not private.
  • Loop. One question your team is working on. Each loop has its own canvas, its own members and its own chats with Prima.
  • Canvas. The surface inside a loop where cards are placed and connected.
  • Card. Anything on the canvas: a task, a link, a file, a section, evidence, a hypothesis, an insight or a conclusion.
  • Section. A named region of the canvas that groups the cards inside it.
  • Hypothesis. A claim under test. Its status records the verdict: Draft, Active, Validated or Invalidated.
  • Evidence. An observation you record, such as an interview note or a number.
  • Conclusion. What you decided once the work reached a verdict.
  • Insight. A takeaway worth sharing beyond the loop it came from.
  • Prima. The built-in agent. It answers in chat, can add cards to the canvas, and points out loops that need something. It acts with your access and nothing more.

A typical loop

  1. Start a loop with the question you want answered. See Start a loop.
  2. Write the hypothesis you want to test. See Write a hypothesis.
  3. Add tasks, links, files and evidence to the canvas, and group them into sections. See Add cards to the canvas.
  4. Ask Prima to summarise the evidence or find gaps. See Chat with Prima.
  5. Set the hypothesis status and write a conclusion. See Record a verdict.
