Loops and the canvas

Start a loop

Start a loop from a question, or from a name.

Workspace admins and users can start loops. Viewers cannot.

Start from a question

  1. Select New loop on the Loops page, or New Loop under the box on your home page.
  2. In the box, type the question you want answered. The placeholder reads What are you trying to learn?.
  3. Press Enter. Meridian creates the loop and opens it. Prima names the loop and drafts hypotheses from your question.

Press Esc to close the box without creating a loop.

Start from a name

  1. Select New loop.
  2. Select Start from a name. Meridian creates an untitled loop and opens it.
  3. Type the loop's name.

Shortcuts

  • The New loop plus button next to the loops list in the sidebar creates an untitled loop straight away.
  • Cmd+Shift+P on a Mac, or Ctrl+Shift+P elsewhere, does the same from anywhere in Meridian.

A new loop is open to everyone in the workspace. To limit it to its members, see Make a loop private.
