Connect an agent (MCP)

Connect with an API key

Connect Cursor, OpenCode or any MCP tool with a key, including for scripts and CI.

Use a key for tools that cannot sign in, such as Cursor and OpenCode, or for headless runs. Any workspace member can create one. The agent acts as you. Treat its key like a password.

  1. Select User options at the bottom of the left sidebar, then Connect an agent.
  2. Under Which tool?, select your tool: Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, OpenCode, Claude (web) or Other MCP tool.
  3. For Claude Code, Codex or Claude (web), under How do you want to connect?, select API key.
  4. In Connection name, type a name you will recognise later, such as the tool and the computer.
  5. Under Can access, keep Everything you can access, or pick one loop to limit the key to it.
  6. Select Create connection.
  7. Select Copy setup prompt for your tool and paste it into the tool, which then sets itself up. Or select Copy command and add the snippet to the tool's config file yourself.

The key is shown only on this screen. Use Show key and Copy key next to Access key if you need it again before you leave. After that, create a new connection.

The connection shows a last-used time once the tool first calls Meridian.

If you see You have hit the connection limit, revoke one you no longer use and try again. See Manage your connected agents.
